The "Vinings" in the name is a historical artifact — The Herb Shop moved years ago from its original Vinings location to the Westside Village shopping center on Marietta Boulevard, a fifteen-minute drive northwest of downtown. It's not technically Vinings anymore; it's Upper Westside. The brand kept the name.
What it is today is one of Atlanta's deepest herbalist apothecaries, with a meaningful loose-leaf tea section. There's a wall of bulk herbs you can weigh out by the ounce, plus shelf-ready loose-leaf herbal blends, essential oils, tinctures, homeopathic remedies, vitamins, and supplements. Custom blending and herbalist consultations happen on request — useful if you know what you want to address (sleep, digestion, immunity) but don't know which herbs to reach for.
For the tea part of the directory, treat this as a retail stop rather than a cafe: there's no by-the-cup service. But if you've been drinking Jayida Ché or Fresh From Earth blends and want to start assembling your own apothecary at home, this is where you come for the raw materials. The staff know their shelves and are patient teachers.
Practical notes: Mon–Sat hours only (10–6); closed Sunday. Metered-lot parking is free and easy at Westside Village. Cash and card both fine. Note that older Yelp listings show a different Cobb Parkway address — the current official location is Marietta Blvd NW, #214.
