The Buckhead Afternoon Tea Cluster
Buckhead is where Atlanta's hotel afternoon-tea tradition lives. The neighborhood holds three of the most formal tea programs in the city within a one-mile radius: Astor Court at The St. Regis Atlanta, Peacock Alley at the Waldorf Astoria, and the seasonal Brasserie Margot at the Four Seasons (which is technically Midtown — full Brasserie Margot details here). Each runs a three-tier service with linens, silver, and the timing that comes standard at a flagship hotel, and each books two to six weeks ahead for weekends — longer for Mother's Day and the holiday season.
Astor Court is the anchor. The Caroline Astor Afternoon Tea runs Saturday and Sunday only with 12:30pm seatings, priced at $80 per adult, with live harp or piano in the lobby below. It's the booking most visitors make for milestone occasions, and for good reason — the program is meticulous and the setting holds its own against any hotel tea in the South.
Outside the hotel cluster, Buckhead's specialty tea scene has grown measurably in 2025-2026. The Postcard opened in 2025 as a rare-cultivar matcha cafe — the first of its kind in the neighborhood — and joins Matcha Cafe Maiko on Buford Highway as the other half of Atlanta's serious matcha equation. Boba Craze runs a trailer-kiosk at Buckhead Village. Swan Coach House, attached to the Atlanta History Center, serves a lunch-hour afternoon tea Tuesday through Saturday that skews more ladies-who-lunch than hotel-formal.
Getting Here
Buckhead is one of the easiest Atlanta neighborhoods to reach by car — West Paces Ferry Road and Peachtree Road intersect at the neighborhood's core, with access from GA-400 to the north and I-85 to the south. Valet parking is standard at all the hotel teas (complimentary with a tea reservation at the St. Regis — confirm at booking).
MARTA's Buckhead station (Red/Gold line) is walkable to Buckhead Village and the Peachtree retail stretch. The hotel teas are a short rideshare from the station. Street parking exists along Peachtree and the side streets but fills during weekend lunch hours.
When to Book
Weekend hotel-tea seatings fill one to three weeks ahead. Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, and holiday-season teas fill four to eight weeks ahead — most Buckhead hotels release their Christmas tea programming in mid-October. Book early or book around the spikes.
